An Introduction from the Dark Lord of EPM

Greetings and welcome to blog number 1 for EPM Nirvana.  So what's the point of another blog talking about Enterprise Performance Management?

Well if you are expecting technical advice, I'm sorry this isn't for you.  If you want technical solutions, head on over to John Goodwin's excellent More to life than this blog.  Although I head up a practice for a UK based Oracle Platinum Partner delivering EPM implementations the rants and ramblings that will follow over the next few years come from a man with over 20 years of experience working in the finance function and most of those years were painful long nights struggling with systems making things difficult, sound familiar!

Since I moved out of finance and seen what systems can do if implemented properly, I have found a better place.  A place where systems can work, a place where frustration is minimal, a place where you can leave work at 6pm, a place where there is no divorce.  In shramanic thought, Nirvana is the state of being free from suffering.

Now wouldn't that be nice............................
